Greg moved from Pennsylvania to AZ in 1998 in to complete a Masters program at the U of A, as well as to bask in the glory that is year around sunshine. An underlying motivation to move out here was to pursue a career in competitive handcycling. This dream was manifested with success in international races, ultra distance competitions, and was capped off with a successful summit of Mt. Fuji in Japan in 2007. But it was in 2001 that Greg broke away from his academic science career to go into business for himself to become the exclusive Surehands lift and Care Systems dealer in AZ and NM, which led to spending the next 20 years specializing in patient lift systems. This calling has been his true passion in life which takes up most hours of most days; however, in those rare moments when not out assessing or installing lifts you'll likely find him either doing something with his 2 sons or off trying to find some out of the way rock to ride an off-road bike on.
Stan started working with AZ Lift and Care in 2005, and comes from a background of both commercial and residential construction that began in 1976. His vast experience ranges from cabinet building, commercial equipment and building stores, re-models, and intricate home modifications. Stan is a master craftsman and has been amazing people for over 40 years with his ability to create solutions with astonishing skill and precision. Besides being superior at his craft, Stan is a 6’ 4” cowboy originally from Missouri and one of the nicest human beings you will ever meet. This is something we hear from just about every one of our clients, and we are lucky to have him heading up our installation team. (And when you meet him you might not recognize him from this photo, which is rare one where he is without his signature cowboy hat!)
After being a cop in Albuquerque for 22 years, Logie retired, only to realize he still had work to do and a difference to make. So in 2001 Logie and his lifelong friend and fellow police officer Richard Turango started a handyman company called BOA General Contractors which quickly blossomed into a custom home building business. Within a few years of doing this they discovered the NM environmental
modifications program, a state funded program that provides home modifications to the state’s disabled and poor. Since then, the business has shifted to almost exclusively doing this type of work. In 2004 BOA and Greg connected on a job that needed a patient lift, and since then BOA has become AZ Lift and Care's exclusive installation and
service team in New Mexico. Consider yourself in good hands when Logie, his trusty right hand man Lalo, and the rest of the crew are at your home to provide a patient lift! Pictured above is Logie load testing a newly installed lift with an extra 50 pounds riding on his lap.
Charlie has been working with Greg since the inception of his business performing home
modifications in 2001. Charlie has 35 years of construction experience, and has been a
licensed contractor in Arizona since 1990. In 1998 he started Ace Remodeling and Repair
which specialized in remodels, handyman work and home modifications. Charlie’s work
ethic and personal dedication has made it very easy to sustain such a long term business
relationship; wherein most contractors would have decided to move on to whatever
transient trend in construction is calling for at a given time. When not on the job during the week installing lifts and doing remodels you can find him around town playing the drums with one the rock and roll bands he belongs to.
Melissa is a longtime friend of the AZ Lift and Care Family and has strong technical ability. She assists with technical service calls, pool lift installations, and stairlift photosurveys in the Tucson area. Pictured above you can see her enjoying the load testing of a platform therapy swing she installed for one of our autistic clients.
Tom is one of the newest members we are proud to have on the AZ Lift and Care Team. Tom comes from a varied background of construction, but has a specialty in bathroom remodeling. He has been a quick study with our ceiling lifts and stair lifts and is there to expediently diagnose and fix any issues when they come up with the many lifts we have out there, as well as assist with our many installations in the Phoenix area.
Raul began helping with technical service and installation assistance in 2019. By trade he is a painter and welder, but like most of the folks we associate ourselves with, he can do and fix just about anything.
